The New Iberia Research Center is part of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (UL Lafayette). The Center is composed of five major Divisions, which include the Division of Research Resources, the Division of Veterinary Sciences, the Division of Animal Resources, the Division of Behavioral Sciences, and the Division of Occupational Services. In addition the Center staffs a Physical Plant Department, Quality Assurance Unit, and also includes Computer Services and Administrative Staff.



The New Iberia Research Center maintains accreditation with the American Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC), has on file with the National Institutes of Health-Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (NIH-OLAW) Animal Welfare Assurance Number A3029-01 and is approved by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for the importation of non-human primates. The Center is also registered with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) as a class "R" research facility.
