Information Technology

The New Iberia Research Center Information Technology Department provides for the Center’s computing requirements with a system of computers interconnected by a Local Area Network with high-speed access to the Internet and the computing resources at the University’s main campus. The full-time Information Technology staff maintains these computers, servers, network devices, printers, copiers, phones, email, validates commercial software systems, and develops new software to meet theInformation Technology Center’s requirements. The staff ensures that the Center clients' information needs are met, including developing customized reports, if needed.

A centralized database maintains records on all animals.  Information Technology personnel are able to quickly generate unique data queries, reports, statistical analysis, and data mining on demand. Daily backups of critical data, including the database, are stored in a secured, fire-resistant facility, ensuring the safety of all electronic data of interest to the Center’s clients.
